Sumac Berry
Rhus typhina
Also known as Staghorn Sumac, this is a great herb for tea or to make Sumacade with which is a cold infused lemonade as the berries are tangy and sour like lemons. Can also be ground up to be used as a spice for cooking, and is a main ingredient in the middle eastern spice blend Zaatar.
Sumac berries are high in antioxidants and vitamin C, they are diuretic supporting the kidneys and immune system. Good to help treat effects of or those prone to kidney infection. Helping to move deep stagnant water out from the body.
They help to moisten the lungs, clear heat, expel phlegm, promote secretion of saliva, can help to soothe sore throats

For tea:
1-2 teaspoons steeped in 8oz of hot water for 2-3 minutes
For Sumacade:
1-2 tablespoons of berries per 1 cup of water left overnight to cold-steep in the fridge
